About Holts Tours

At Holts Tours, we pride ourselves in being the specialist in educational travel and the leading history and battlefield touring company.

We believe in making life as simple and stress-free for teachers as we can. With almost 40 years’ experience in operating battlefield and history tours and more than 25 years organising school travel, you can be sure that your next school trip is in safe hands with us.

We have genuine care for the welfare and enjoyment of your students. Our experienced team all share an interest in history and travel and they’re committed to delivering quality planning and exceptional service. They pay meticulous attention to detail and provide you with total support.

Our Head of Schools and Colleges Battlefield Tours, Jacqui Shaw, was educated at Reading and Cambridge, and has worked as a teacher for over 20 years.

Inspired to learn more after visiting the Battlefields herself on a school tour, she has been returning ever since and is excited to be able to bring the experience to new generations of students.

Our balanced travel arrangements and logical planning are complemented by the battlefield and history advice we receive from our Head Battlefield Guide, Paul Reed.

Paul has worked as a Battlefield Guide for over 30 years and has guided numerous schools tours. He is also the author of several books about WW1 and WW2, and works in television making and appearing in documentaries for BBC and Channel 4.

With the help of this dedicated team, the experiences we provide are second-to-none, something that is testified by those who come back to our school tours year after year. The fact that so many schools are loyal to us stems from our appreciation of the challenges associated with co-ordinating a successful school trip.

With Holts, we seek to bring history to life, understand the past, and ensure a memorable and rewarding Battlefield Tour for your students. So, why not join us and let us help you arrange a high-standard study tour to enhance your schools learning outside of the classroom?

Outdoor Education Advisers' Panel (OEAP)

The panel endorses the Learning Outside the Classroom (LotC) Quality Badge and requests Local Authorities to recommend the use of Badged Providers, and for them to require the minimum of additional paperwork where Quality Badge accreditation is in place. Find out more.
