This 3 or 4-day study tour introduces your students to the main sites associated with the major events of the period such as the Palace of Versailles, the Place de la Concorde and the Place de la Bastille.
The French Revolution was a time of political and social rebellion in France which altered the course of modern history. Starting in 1789, it saw the monarchy overthrown and a republic established, culminating in a dictatorship under Napoleon.

This morning we travel to central Paris for a walking tour of the city looking at sites connected with the French Revolution, such as the Champs de Mars, Les Invalides, Chapelle Expiatoire, la Place de la Concorde and La Place de la Bastille. This will be led by a local Paris Guide.
In the afternoon we visit the historic Palace and Gardens of Versailles. This palace was at the heart of the monarchy which was deposed in the French Revolution.
We return to our hotel and enjoy our evening meal in a local restaurant.

This morning we travel to Disneyland® Paris where we enjoy the full day, experiencing everything both parks have to offer.
We choose our own lunch and dinner options in the park before returning to our hotel in the evening.

This morning we travel into Paris for a visit to the Musee de l’Armees des Invalides. Here students can enjoy the galleries including collections in the Louis XIV and Napoleon Galleries as well as seeing the Tomb of Napoleon.
We then return to Calais for our Eurotunnel crossing and our return journey to school.

We depart for Waterloo, arriving late afternoon. Here we visit the Memorial 1815 Museum, a large modern museum which explains the history of the battle and contains a huge amount of original material. We then check into our Schools Hotel in Brussels for an overnight and evening meal.

This morning we pick up a local guide and explore the battlefields of Waterloo, starting at the farm of La Haye Sainte defended by the coalition forces under Wellington’s command and end at Hougoumont, a defended farm complex where fighting raged all day.
Now a museum, we explore the farm, see the memorials and look at how important the holding of this position was in 1815, and how it was achieved.We then return to Calais and the journey back to our school.
